It needs no further introduction when the word Godzilla surface. Yes we are referring to the American science fiction monster film directed by Gareth Edwards which is still showing in the Cinemas. However, the word cardboardzilla is recently made famous by this artist.
Xhong Kai-Xiang is an artist from Taiwan who has talent in making 3D statues out of cardboards. His hobby-cum-talent shows us how to put recycled cardboards into good use. In conjunction with the launch of the film Godzilla, Xhong has decided to make his very own version of Godzilla, called the cardboardzilla.
It certainly took him some time as he started to post part of his unfinished Cardboardzilla project in early May 2014. It is not until the first week of June, only did Xhong posted his achievements in his Facebook page as well as his Imgur page. See below for some of his work in progress:
On June 9th, Xhong commented on his Facebook page:
I haven’t even checked him out closely, it’s just too hurry…So now i can only look at the picture…If you want to see him, please come to the Wrong Gallery Taipei, and you don’t have to spend a penny to visit here, but it’s not open on Monday, Welcome 🙂
One funny thing Xhong did was to actually create a trailer for his cardboardzilla project. View the video below and be amazed!
All the credits for the above materials goes to this young man, who by the way did a marvellous job. Young and talented. Keep up the good work!
